Here is a Portuguese originality from a very old recipe, included in the Modern Cook Book, printed in 1780. The original Capilé Syrup, made from avenca leaves and with a touch of natural orange blossom water, is diluted with water for a slightly sweet, subtly fragrant and very refreshing drink. Served with ice and a lemon rind on any occasion.

If you enjoy less sweetness, try increasing the recommended dilution in plain or sparkling water.

To preserve the full quality of these syrups, bottles should be stored in a cool, dry place. Always shake before opening and store in a refrigerator. It should be drink fresh.

Ingredients: Sugar, Water, Avenca Leaves, Orange Blossom Natural Water [Water (79%), Orange Blossom Water Concentrate (20%), Natural Orange Blossom Flavor (1%)], Acidity Regulator (citric acid).

This syrup allows you to prepare a distinct and elegant refreshment, more or less sweet, depending on your preference.

Apart from the more conventional use in refreshment, these syrups are equally delicious as ice cream or yogurt sweet sauce, crepes or pancakes. It is an ingredient to explore in the preparation of cocktails or sparkling water and a lemon wedge. In the kitchen you can enrich cakes, crackers or even savory dishes such as white meat or baked fish.
