An artisanal production, in small batches, using tomatoes grown in the Alentejo sun, allowed to obtain an improved and very refined jam with an intense flavor and a perfect texture.
Tomato comes from the Mexican word "tomalt" where this plant originates from. Brought to Europe by Spanish discoverers, the tomato plant began to be cultivated in the mid-16th century. Initially it was thought that it was a poisonous plant, so much so that it does not appear in any cookery book until the 19th century.
